The World’s First Hydro Nation debate evening will explore Scottish Government’s vision for Scotland as a Hydro Nation. Unlike other areas of the UK which are under serious water stress, Scotland has abundant water resources and the vision for a Hydro Nation sees these resources being fully harnessed to boost the economy and raise Scotland’s international profile through its performance on global water issues. The delivery of Hydro Nation is intended to be a key part of Scotland’s transition to a low carbon economy and its success will depend on the concerted efforts of all those engaged in the water sector.
Views will be heard from the key organisations involved in the development and launch of the Hydro Nation concept. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session in which the audience will be invited to challenge the views of the speakers and contribute their own perspectives on this topic.
