Association of Salmon Fishery Boards

The Association of Salmon Fishery Boards (ASFB) was established in 1932 to protect, preserve and develop salmon fisheries in Scotland. The Association is the representative body which attends to the interests of its members - Scotland's 41 District Salmon Fishery Boards (DSFBs)

 Atlantic Salmon Trust

Set up in 1967, the Atlantic Salmon Trust (AST) is involved in the funding and sponsorship of practical research programmes tackling the problems wild Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout face today.

Fisheries Research Services

Fisheries Research Services (FRS) is an agency of the Scottish Government Marine Directorate (SGMD). FRS provides expert scientific and technical advice to Government on mMarine and freshwater fisheries, aquaculture and the protection of the aquatic environment.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is Scotland's environmental regulator. Their main role is to protect and improve the environment. SEPA is responsible for the implimentation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) in Scotland and both coordinates and participates in the river basin planning process.

Scottish Natural Heritage

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) is a Government body responsible to Scottish Government Ministers and through them to the Scottish Parliament. Established in 1992, SNH's role is to look after the natural heritage, help people to enjoy and value it, and encourage people to use it sustainably.

 The RAFTS Invasives Species Project

 

RAFTS has recognised the importance of the prevention, control or eradication of invasive species and diseases in river catchments and with support from the Scottish Government, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation has initiated the RAFTS Biosecurity and Invasive Species Programme.
