The projects of RAFTS and its members are supported by funds from many sources although fundraising is an ongoing challenge.  RAFTS employs a part-time staff member to support fundraising efforts.  

Past and current support has been secured from sources including the following:

• The Scottish Government
• Scottish Natural Heritage
• Scottish Environment Protection Agency
• The Crown Estate
• The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation
• The Whitley Animal Protection Trust
• Atlantic Salmon Trust
• European project funds

In addition to the ongoing pursuit of project funding RAFTS has taken part in the 2009 Atlantic Salmon Trust auction where a number of lots were auctioned specifically for the benefit of RAFTS.
