Avon Barriers Project attracting attention

The RAFTS-led Avon Barriers Project which hopes to ease fish passage at two structures on the Avon Water in South Lanarkshire has been receiving attention from public agencies and the press.

The project, which is funded by SEPA’s Water Environment Fund and the HLF supported Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership, features in SNH’s ‘Natural Scotland’ blog, which can be seen here, and is due to be appraised in an article featuring in The Scotsman tomorrow (13th February). BBC Radio Scotland has also shown interest, and it is hoped that a feature on the project may go ahead in March.
